Hindu goddess?....

Here is a fantastic creation done by my neice Leya...

it reminds me of the Hindu Goddess Durga...

An embodiment of creative feminine force,

Durga exists in a state of self-sufficiency and fierce compassion.

Durga manifests fearlessness and patience, and never

loses her sense of humor, even during spiritual battles of epic proportion.

I am captivated by the work of this Vancouver artist

it puts me in a trance....just staring in AW

His treatment of the background reminded me of the collage work
we did with Anahata in Bali when creating the mandalas.
I was also intrigued with his use of graphite
and how it flows into the painted portion.

I got together with my good friend Charlene

for some pre-birthday treats... She is looking so cute on her front step...

her house is so amazing, it should be featured in a magazine

I love the flowers that she always has on the front steps
We got to check out a few galleries...

and the bathroom too...with pebbles in the sink

There was a great home decor shop along the way that had this fantastic lamp...

at first I thought it was made from buttons but then I saw the shells....

so cool ....of course the birthday dinner wouldn't be the same without the

toffee-sticky-pudding-chocolate-cake-melt-in-your-mouth-with-creamy-ice-cream!

already feeling spoiled...I also received this gorgeous silk scarf
I think I am going to wrap it up in my hair somehow...
I just love the ORANGE color!

Plumeria Perfume...for real?

remember the Plumeria flower from Bali?....

the scent is wonderous...

we were all thinking that they should make a perfume from it..

Johnston Canyon....who knew?

What a gem of a place....

and who knew it even existed?

If it wasn't for a random promo fax...

we would have never been to

Johnston Canyon!

The Cabins were wonderful...

we got a really great discount on a 4 person bungalow

regularly $314...and paid $135

check out the bathroom...

the nice walkways made for a wonderful hike

The hike to the lower falls was about 30 minutes....

and about 60 minutes to the upper falls

and there was lots to see along the way...
like 2 purple flowers that we all took pictures of

and some mossy clumps

and the "foot"

and the "s" tree

and the logger lady

It is located just outside of Banff...
about a 2 hour drive from Calgary
I will definitely go again
good times!
