joy.....

it seems I have misplaced "Joy".....
can't seem to find her anywhere

I thought I caught a glimpse of her a few times...
but I was mistaken

if you know where she is...can you let me know?

a little girl came into the store the other day

she brought along her cherished baby doll

it was thread bare and missing hair

rough around the edges, but full of her loving care

the girl came and went, but the doll was left behind

wedged in a cubby hole...a little hard to find

when I touched the doll...I felt all the love

this doll must have been pure joy and comfort to that little girl

so glad I was able to contact her and return the doll

the re-connection made me bawl

I hope I can find my Joy soon

determined to keep looking

Abandoned Art...

since joining the art group that Michael Demeng started called "Art Abandonment" on facebook...I have been itching to leave some of my work somewhere.....

what a better place than where I was today (while on vacation at the Oregon Coast)...but BANDON !

now I can say it was ABANDONED in BANDON!

this painting is called "fishing around"
(9 x 12 ; acrylic on water color paper)

if you can find it ....you can keep it :)

My Poppy......

she is finished!

Day 7...almost done

took the plunge and added some red....

it is looking good

Day 5 & 6

been adding....then subtracting....then adding back in
-painted around the edges of the canvas
-darkened the hair
-painted more in detail in the center of poppy
-added layer of purple
-added another layer of orange
...still contemplating adding RED to the orange....

Day 4....more orange

added more detail to the center of the poppy

....added more orange....

now I am considering adding some red
